Kirsty has been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist since 2013. She is a graduate of the 3000-hour RMT program at Utopia Academy (now Vancouver College of Massage Therapy) in Vancouver. Kirsty's approach to massage therapy incorporates specific assessments in order to measure results before and after treatment, osteopathic techniques, Craniosacral therapy (CST), Muscle Energy Technique (MET), fascial release techniques, and trigger point therapy, while encouraging deep relaxation necessary for the body to heal. She also offers intra-oral treatment for TMJD.
Kirsty works with patients recovering from, and coping with, chronic and acute injury and illness, as well as adult and adolescent athletes, pregnant mums, seniors and patients seeking to maintain healthy bodies. Kirsty is experienced in helping patients to manage living with chronic pain and life-long illnesses such as Ankylosing Spondylitis, Lupus, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Endometriosis. She also has assisted patients coping with anxiety and depression.
Kirsty loves spending time with her family and friends. An athlete for most of her life, Kirsty has competed in hundreds of road running races, including 5K, 8K, 10K, Half Marathons, and Marathons. In recent years she has become an avid road cyclist and has competed in a few Fondos. In order to maintain her own fitness she regularly enjoys cycling, spin classes, running and strength training.
